abgesehen von der feststellung eingangs, dass tiere in der popmusik eine eher kleine rolle spielen, werden zwei paradigmen kontrastiert:

(1) wild-animalisch
(2) domestiziert

ad (1)
dazu fallen mir noch spontan Phil Filthy Animal Taylor (Motörhead) und John Cale ein, der 1978 oder so auf der bühne einem (Toten) huhn den kopf angebissen haben soll und den darauf die band flüchtenden musikern ein höhnisches stück widmete (Chicken Shit)

aber vor allem ist es mir ein persönliches anliegen, den maulwurf hinzufügen:

es gibt von den Residents die Mole Show (mit masken, aber ich hab das nie gehört). vor allem aber (Greil Marcus über) Bascam Lamar Lunsford, "I wish I was a Mole in the Ground" (#). hier ein recht hübsches YouTube-home-recording dazu.
